Hi,
I’m using the ATIK OAG with a ZWO 290MM.
My guide stars are elonagated in PHD2 whilst the stars through my main camera (490ex) are perfectly round.
PHD2 exposure length from 1 sec to 4 sec all the guide stars are elongated.
I have adjusted focus using a Bahtinov mask. I think it’s tilt in the OAG prism. As I rotate the mask there is a position where the alignment lines on the Bahitonv mask image is of equal brightness between each side of the mask. As I rotate in line with the elongation of the stars one side fades.
I notice that as I tighten the prism when I’m at the right extension length the prism “bar” moves a bit to one side.
Perhaps this is the source of the tilt?
Does anyone else who owns the ATIK OAG ever experience this? Is my OAG faulty?
I hope I’ve made myself clear....
Thnaks

Hi Vince,
Thanks I will. Sorry for late reply.

Just to close this out for anyone interested.
The elongated stars disappeared by lowering the mirror more into the imaging/light capturing area on the advise of Vince.
Problem solved.

Luckily I am not the first one experiencing this issue and know how to sort everything out now!
