Title: Lines and boxes on image

I'm a new user.  Could anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong.  Fits image was black until I greatly brightened the exposure in gimp...  I thought it looked fine on the computer during image acquisition. Thanks, Mark

fits images ,saved by all capturing softwares ,are black (non linear) ,until u start streching , It is normal.

Are you working with a FITS files off a mono or color camera?  If color, you have to Debayer the file to get a color image.  If mono, might there be something you're doing in Gimp?
