Optical jet in the Rosette nebula: Rosetta HH2

optical jet - Rosetta HH2 - in the Rosette Nebula. The jet system has unique characteristics to reside at the center of the HII agiata region, and its energy source is visible with apparently very low extinctions along the line of sight. Unlike most other Herbig-Haro jets, this jet indicates a high excitation origin, and its extended portion shows an apparently intact structure, rather than normally a shocked work surface, which is attributed to photoablation.

Camera: Atik 414 Ex Mono
Objective: Ritchey-Chrétien Astrograph 10''
Poses: 12x600' - H-alpha
