ATIK383L+ voltage max?

Hi, I have had my 383L+ mono now for nearly 3 years and it has been 100% reliable. I recently bought a Mount Hub Pro, and I am having issues with it working on the relay switched power outlets. The guy at HITEC astro thinks the high inital current draw from my 383L is causing a USB disconnect of the MHP, which is resetting the relay. I am wondering if I turn up the power output of my supply (Max is 16v) then this might solve the issue. I have it currently set at 13.8v. What is the max I can go to, to safely test this out and see if I can get my 383L to connect.
Or is it more likely that my camera needs a service?

Atik support can give a definitive answer but I wouldn't supply the camera with a higher voltage than you are doing.  Higher voltages will increase the load on the power supply components in the camera.

Not sure what your power system is doing, switching the main camera power on and off while the USB connection remains on and powered from the PC/hub I suppose.

I would be surprised if the camera has a huge extra current draw when it is connected but if it does increasing the current supply capacity of the power supply may help.

13,8V could be a little too much.
There are some 383L+ with broken cooling unit…

I use 13.3 Volt to an the safe side of the Atik world.
Important: For an older 383er it’s necessary that you have ca. 12,8V on the ccd plug. Measured with full capacity of the cooling unit.

For the voltage drop:
Please check that the cooling unit don’t start directly after connecting the CCD.

I've been using 13.8 from a regulated power supply for the past couple of years with no ill effects.

Hi Chris,
18 months on I know, you may have changed camera by now but did you ever get this resolved.  I've used my 383 without issue on a 13.8v Rapid bench PSU, and have just ordered a HitecAstro MHP, so very interested in hearing what the resolution was?
