First deep sky object imaged NGC7000 ATIK 383

This is my first Astro image and with a new camera....
details:

Shot from my house in Denver Colorado three days after full moon. Amazing to me how the Ha cuts the light pollution from the city and moon!
 
NGC 7000 - North american Nebula  -  8/4/12
Tele Vue NP101is
field flattener

Orion mini 50mm guider and StarShoot AutoGuider
Nebulosity for capture with script
PHD guiding 2 seconds

ATIC 383L+ cooling set to -10
Ha filter 2x2 600s
processed in Nebulosity and Photoshop for resize

Hello,
Very nice shot. Try the 383 with out the field flatener. Stars in the is scope should stay round to about 40mm image circle. 383 is 20mm.

Nice 1st light!

I notice you are getting a bit of star stretch in the corners of your image.  You might consider checking the camera to flattener spacing.  I think the sensor to flattener spacing is supposed to be about 55mm but check the specs.

Now add the Oiii and Sii filters and you're on the way to Hubble quality images!

Tonight I'm trying the 0.8 focal reducer to get more FOV. I'm still seeing the stars a bit
out of round in the corners at 10 min subs. Perhaps it is polar alignment slightly off?

Are you using the Televue 0.8x reducer?  Real nice piece of glass.  I use one with a Televue 102 and it works wonderfully!  But like I said, you do have to play with the sensor to reducer spacing a bit to get the optimum flattening.

Yes..I have the TeleVue reducer. Just imaged IC1318B in Ha using it last night. I think I am a few mm short on spaces. Thanks for the tips!
