Title: CCD Noise on display?
Post by: StarMike on January 24, 2017, 09:02:19 pm
The other night, I had been using my Infinity with great results.  Then after about two hours I started getting a lot of CCD noise on the display.  I know the Infinty does not have a cooler, but is it suppose to get warm enough that it is not usable after about 2 hours.  Here is an is image I snapped when it happened,  Really starnge

Ok, I think I figured it out.  I have a street light right across the street from me, and the light was shining in the slot on my filter wheel where you rotate it to change filters.  I put a towel over it and got this of the Horsehead.  I first thought something was wrong with the camera, glad I was wrong

I was plagued with light leaks in my filter wheel.
In the end I got myself a USB motorized one - no more problems

Hi John, that is on my wish list.  Just expensive compared to a manual wheel
