383L+ Mono, fan is 'always' on?
« on: October 03, 2016, 03:09:42 am »
The fan in the 383L+ mono seems to be always on.

Lets say I am using Sequence Generator Pro and I set up a sequence and start it. The sequence finishes (with the command to warm up at the end of the sequence). But in the meantime you go off and take a nap but don't get up till the next morning.

Is the fan going to run all night long?

It would be cool to have some sort of software control over the fan.

The fan on mine runs from the time I apply power to the camera to the time I shut it off.

Hi there,

Yes, the fan always runs while the camera's on, can I ask why you want to switch it off?

Thanks Jo, sorry I did not get back sooner I was out of town.

"why you want to switch it off ?"

Simple, If I run a sequence that finishes at say 2:00am and I sleep to 8:00am the fan will have been running for 6 hours collecting dirt etc. for no purpose.

What I would like is a software command that once a sequence is completed, and the camera has been 'warmed' to shut the fan down.

Hello,

The fans on all our cameras run whenever the power supply is connected.  If you are powering from the mains you could consider a timer switch.  Alternatively there are devices which will allow the programmatic switching of the 12V supply including the mount hub pro and Kendrick products.
