Title: M42 and the 383L in mono.. core and LRGB core
Post by: NickK on February 19, 2013, 10:13:17 pm
What do you do when you have a 68Mbyte HDR mono image and a 600KB limit!

First is a wide image, resized, and then a native crop of the core..

And now the core - PHD guiding with new values caused issues with the 10 minute subs and the EQ6.

Pentax 105SDP.. nothing quite like it.. this is at 1.67 arcsec/pixel without additional noise removal. I'm currently researching image processing that could assist in helping (I could use PI deconv with PSF but I have a better idea).

Unfortunately I wasn't really strict with the focusing over the several nights.. so the core ended up with colours out of alignment with the LRGB. That will teach me to cut corners - even in -13degC!

There's plenty of processing I could do to fix each colour and then integrate.. but I like my images 'as-is'.. including the learning experiences. There's a lovely amount of graduation appearing in the nebulosity.

Unfortunately my local skies are blighted with the Orange doom.. so I may switch to narrowband.
