Title: Artemis - ImagesPlus Conflict
Post by: bwa on March 23, 2012, 07:18:32 pm
Why do images taken w/ the 428Ex using Artemis get flipped horizontally in ImagesPlus?  Is something being written incorrectly in the FIT header?  Is there a configuration setting that can be changed to resolve this issue?

I don't have this problem with any other CCD or DSLR I've ever used...

Noticed that too, but it's not really a problem ... i guess there's a bug in one of the FITS libs.

I even noticed that some picture open right in some software and may appear flipped in others.

Not a problem until you apply Darks and Flats that may or may not be flipped the same way AND darn hard to determine which way these are oriented.  Much nicer if everything worked like it should!!

If Artemis does rotate the pictures, it also rotates the offsets, darks etc. always ...

Only problem is if you take darks / offsets with Artemis and pictures with Nebulosity for example, you are right.

Hi,

I exactly had the same problem! I captured some images of M51 in Capture and then swapped back to MDL, i had to mirror all Capture files horizontaly so everything came back to order.
It is possible to autorotate pictures opening them with Pixinsight, a wonderful Software  ;D
