Title: 383L+ Color Question
Post by: jblockyou on July 31, 2012, 02:33:24 am
I just purchased this camera new and have had it a couple of weeks. I place the cap over sensor (no light gets in) and take a five second exposure. I then stretch this image. I have nine real bright pixels with a colored line starting just below each pixel running all the way to the bottom of the image. Is this normal operation or do I have a problem? I have resized the image so I could post it. Thanks!

I'm no expert on the 383L BUT I sure wouldn't want to see this on any CCD I own!

These are all good quality cameras but I do have a question. Why do your brighter stars look "offset" to the left?

Hello,

Not fast but anyway.  The vertical lines are completely normal for a Kodak sensor.  As they say,  they all do that.  The lines are warm ie they can be subtracted with a dark frame.
Best
