Post by: dpaul on June 21, 2018, 12:50:38 am
Attached are two versions of the Cats Eye Nebula, taken last night in twilight UK summer evening.Filters used were OIII, HA, SII and HBETA but only the OIII and HA made any signifcant contribution.

Each filter had 20-25 frames integrated, aeach fame being 25 seconds.

Scope - 30'' F3.5 Dobsonian on equatrial platform (but no guiding)
Camera - ATIK Horizon mono with Paracorr type II coma corrector.

Thanks

David

Very nice David. I'm impressed with the detail that you get with your Horizon/Dob combination and the final color rendition is stunning!

Another incredible catch!  That 30" scope really pulls them in.

Hi Jim

Its the Lockwood Optics and the equatorial platform that really helps.
