Title: 314L+ cooling
Post by: thedwo on March 22, 2012, 06:35:55 pm
Does the 314L+ use dessicant to prevent icing during low temperature cooling?

Hi,

as it was already mentioned on an other post here in the forum, i think that there is no desiccant option on the 314l+...

Hi Lex
Many thanks. I did search the backlog but didn't find any reference, hence the post.

I am a field shooter which means I face very high humidity like 92-93% during the night and in last 3 years I had only once (1x) a problem with dew - and it was caused just because I removed (detached) the camera from FW and telescope and mounted some filter in the field and therefore let the humidity (water) creep in.

The CCD is too small to have dew problems, really in my extreme conditions it is perfect and no worry about! This is a great advantage of small chips.

I would like to rectify this thread; at least on the latest 314L+ models, there is a replaceable dessicant tablet inside the camera.
