I have a chance to purchase a second hand Atik 1HS II camera. I understand for long exposures that I need to connect the parallel cable to a PC/laptop. As my laptop doesn't have a parallel port, I will need some sort of adapter. I have read up that many people have had issues connecting their modified toucams to their laptop. There are several options, some with more success than others:
1) Use a parallel to usb adapter. Many people report that this doesn't work
2) Use a parallel to serial adapter and then a serial to usb adapter. It appears this is more successful. However, a special parallel to serial adapter is required
3) Buy a parallel express card if the laptop supports.
So my question is, is there anyone out there who has connected their Atik to a laptop? If so, what adapters have you used?

Hi
I also own this camera and would like to know also what is the best way to connect it to a modern computer.
Does anyone have an idea, where to buy or how to fabricate it ?
Best regards

It is a pity we can't get any feedback. I would have believed Atik be more responsive to the questions of their clients. :(
