Title: 383L+C Andromeda Core
Post by: jblockyou on July 24, 2012, 08:39:24 pm
First light with my new Atik 383+LC.
Image consists of [5] ten minute exposures with camera cooled to 0'C shot using my 10" F/4 newtonian reflector. Since this picture was taken I have worked out my coma problem by adjusting the spacing on my MPCC.

I'm using a Losmandy G11 with a Orion Starshoot Autoguider and PHD guiding software.
Also I used a Baader MPCC coma corrector and a IDAS LPS filter. I have had trouble getting the spacing correct on the MPCC. The company says it should be 55mm from the camera chip but when I space it at 55mm the coma is still around the outside of the field. I tried 50mm and it was worse and then I tried 60mm and the coma dissapeared. This shot was taken before I found the correct spacing.
