Title: stuck adaptor at atik383l+
Post by: kookoo_gr on January 22, 2014, 11:27:23 am
I have the 3mm adaptor stuck at my camera and i can't remove it. I tried using a belt wrench but the adaptor is so short that the wrench can't get a grip on it even when using extension adaptors. what are my options for removing it without damaging the camera or the adaptor?

There are things called filter wrenches that are available on ebay, perhaps that will work.  I managed to make one from a piece of 2mm plastic.

Otherwise try what searches for things like stuck filter reveal.

Carved it out of a piece of black plastic from the lid of something using a Dremel and knife.

I should have said Lens Filter Wrench, this sort of thing http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=lens+filter+wrench

The one I made was a lot cruder.

I had the same issue a while back, it was as though it was welded in place. I resorted to cutting a narrow slot on either side of the adapter so I could use a only straight edge to gain some leverage. I now routinely put Delrin washers (Baader make some) between any component parts.
