I've just bought a 314 ec colour camera but cannot get colour from it.
My windows 7 laptop recognises it as a 314L camera.
I'm processing the fits files in deep sky stacker.
Is it a windows 7 driver issue or deep sky stacker?
The label on the camera says it is a colour version.
I've used an Atik 16ic and not had any problems in the past.
I would attach a fits file but it is too large at 700KB.

Hello,
If you send a fits file to support at atik-cameras.com we can take a look.

Thanks I've just sent you some fits files via email.
I think it could be the 2x2 binning I was using last night.
I read on google that binning causes problems with the bayer matrix on some ccd chips.
I'll do some more captures tonight.
When I used my 16ic I never used to do any binning.

Binning will output B&W images on most CCD cameras.

Yes that's the issue. No binning and I get colours.
I then used a generic GRBG bayer matrix in deep sky stacker.
Last nights Dumbell Nebula test shot attached.
The oblong stars are because my autoguiding setup was struggling with last night's clouds. I also haven't corrected the vignetting in photoshop yet.
I had a quick go at the Iris Nebula and could get a nice blue colour. Even with the clouds getting in the way.

Better Image from friday night.
Autoguiding working and flat frames sorted out the vignetting nicely.
12 x 3 minute lights + 40 Flat frames.

Looks great but I think that focus can still be improved.
