Title: 460EX Mono - noisy fan
Post by: laperuz on October 23, 2015, 02:49:09 PM
This issue developed in the course of two nights last weekend. The fan started to make strange noises, sometimes more pronounced and louder, sometimes almost no noise. I was wondering if anyone had it? Could it be dying? And may be there's a way to oil it (using a syringe and just a drop of machine oil in the  right spot)... Camera is about 2.5 years old and is otherwise working perfectly.
Thank you,
Ian

Hi Ian,

It could possibly be linked to the power supply - do you have a way to check that its delivering a constant 12V supply? If it's fluctuating, it could account for the inconsistent behaviour. Otherwise there could be something stuck in it, or it could be on its way out - if it's looking like that's the case, you can always email support@atik-cameras.com and they'll find a way to sort you out with a new fan :)
