Title: Troubles with a new 383LC+

Hello!
I have an new Atik 383LC+.
But there ist some trouble with the CCD Chip ... I think.
There are some folts in the direction where the shutter opens.

I see the folts on the lights and on the flats.
I have changed the USB cable
I pluged the Camara to a battery
I put the Flattener away and the IDAS filter
I took Sky Flats.
I rotated the camera
I made the pictures with MAXIM and with the original software
I took pictures wit cooling to -20°C and withoutcooling

Is it possibile that the CCD is defective?

Are ther some other ideas what to do?

Are you using an open filter wheel? For me this lookes like straylight acting parastive to your images?

I downloaded a couple of your fit files and couldn't find anything wrong with them.  They debayer nicely in both Deep Sky Stacker and ImagesPlus, and displayed as I would expect a flat to display.

I've attached a JPG file showing the profile of the Originalsoftware.fit file.

Since I don't know the bayer pattern for the 383LC+ I used the Generic RGGB.  You may have to play with the bayer pattern, either RGGB, BGGR, GBRG or GRBG, to determine the correct one to use.

No I dont use a Filter wheel.
It is not possible that scattered light could fall to the chip.

Thanks for your post.
In the corner of the picture you con see waves or folds.
You see it if you stetch the histrogramm.
Or take a JPEG or a Tif file.

I know how to handle the Bayer Matrix but this is a problem with the CCD chip. Do you think this too?

Günther,

Yes, I do get the same thing in your image if I really stretch it.  It doesn't look like anything I've every seen caused by a camera.  I suspect you have something happening in the optics, i.e.: a reflection, newton rings, etc.

Try shooting a flat with no lens on the camera; just aim the camera at a bright wall or use an EL panel over the end of the camera.  I'd also take off the nosepiece to be sure it isn't causing a reflection.  If the problem still exists, this would eliminate the optics and probably indicate something is truly wrong with the camera...  But like I said, I've never seen this type of pattern caused by a camera.

Hello bwa!

The optic is a TMB 115mm Refractor.

I tested the Flat with the same equipment, filter and flattener with my Eos 1000Da, Eos 30Da, SBIG ST2k and there is nothing wrong with the optic.

I'll test the CCD without Optic.
I'll post the picture later.

Hello!

I tested now 4 new CCD's from Atik with the colour chip.
Only one CCD did not show this problems. Three other CCD hav the same problems.
I tested a mono chip too and there are not these problems with the fold's.

Hello Forum!

Now I tested the chanched Atik 383 LC. But the new CCD also have the same problems.
So  this was the last Test with ATIK. I sent it back.
Now I take pictures with my old SBIG CCD again. And everything works perfekt again.
