Title: Live Broadcasting with Infinity ??
Post by: scopesnc on March 03, 2016, 09:17:51 pm
So can the Infinity camera be used for live broadcasting on web sites like Ustream or Live stream or any of the other flash based web sites ? Can the camera be seen like a web cam is seen or does one have to use a 2nd software such as Webcam Max or Manycam in order to broadcast live on one of these sites?
Has anybody who owns one taken the 2 minutes of time to try and see if it will work?

Hi JimT,

The broadcasting works via Open Broadcaster, which streams your screen to the selected destination. Previously, only YouTube was available. But the latest version (Released later today) will also include a Video Astronomy Live option. You do not need Webcam Max or ManyCam in order for this to work.

Chris,

Is there away to enter in Infinity software 'Custom Settings' in OBS a URL and Streaming key for a different site?

Hi Don,

There is no way to do that currently. However, that's not a bad idea. I could add in another option for 'custom stream' and allow you to enter in a URL and Stream Name. Assuming the destination can receive RTMP streams it should work just fine. I'll add it to the list for the next version!
