Title: Few questions
Post by: 2star on March 10, 2016, 11:08:09 am
Hi, I have my Infinity but not had chance due to weather yet to give it my first light.
I have 2 scopes, 9.25 Celestron Evolution SCT & Skywatcher 102 refractor.
also Celestron 6.3 FR & Meade 3.3 FR.

I have bought the infinity initially for DSO viewing/video, however, I would also like to do some Moon & Planet viewing/Video, what is the best set-up for Planetary views ie: Connecting infinity to scope with the use of a barlow for example,I have a Meade T thread adaptor that came with the 3.3.
As you can probably tell by the questions I have never done any video astronomy  before and also I am relatively new to Astronomy as a whole, any help/advice please.
Eric

Hello Eric,

Although the Infinity will work when imaging planets it is not the best camera for the job, our GP or a webcam have a higher frame rate so would work much better. To connect the Infinity to your scope I would think the best way would be using the T to 1.25" eyepiece adaptor that came with the camera and insert the camera in the place of an eyepiece.

Best regards
Vince
