Title: Disassembling EFW2
Post by: nitehawk on May 24, 2016, 12:27:35 am
I just bought an OAG, and I need to take the thread adapter off of my EFW2. However it is good and stuck, which I suppose should not be too surprising because they have been together for nearly 2 years.

I know I bought the adapter separately and attached it, but I do not recall how I did it. I am pretty sure the inner ring just unthreads from the housing of the wheel itself, but I don't want to force it if I am turning it the wrong way.

Should the inside bit just rotate anticlockwise? (based on the orientation in my picture)

Maybe use a drop of anti-thread-seize lubricant?

I found the T-thread adapter and was able to verify that I am turning it the right way. However after soaking the thing in PB-Blaster the M48 adapter still seems fused to it. I wish there was a better way to get a grip on the adapter to force it to move :(

The bolts that come with the OAG will mount on top of the M48 adapter, I suppose I can just buy another adapter to stick on the end of the OAG to fit it to the scope.
