Title: Artemis and Dithering?
Post by: ThomasFrisch on August 26, 2016, 11:06:49 am
Hello all,
I am missing the dithering option for PDH during guiding in the Artemis SW. This is the reason why I changed to another program which supports this option.
Is there any plan to support dithering in the Artemis SW in the future?

Or is there even another way of getting dithering done with Artemis?

Thanks
Thomas

Hello Thomas,

You can actually already dither within Artemis Capture. If you open the tracking window and tick the 'setup guiding' box, about two thirds of the way down there's an option to set the dithering amount.

I've attached a screenshot to show what I mean, I hope that helps!

Hi -
I guide with PHD2 and image with Artemis Capture.  I'd like to try guiding and dithering with Artemis Capture alone, but I don't see how to link to the guide camera when I open a second instance of Capture.  I saw a video tutorial on You Tube, but the software there asked for a camera choice on booting and mine does not.  I'm sure there's a simple action that I'm missing.  Thanks.

Hello,

You will need 2 Atik cameras connected to get this to work.  The first instance of capture you open will ask you which camera you would like to connect to.

Too bad one can't use a guide camera of any manufacturer with Ascom drivers.
