Title: 383L M16 Eagle Nebula
Post by: Kaidan on July 24, 2012, 12:27:07 pm
Hi,

M16, the Eagle Nebula, taken from "Piton Maïdo" (2200m), Réunion Island

First image with new off-axis guider and Lodestar. Sadly the distance corrector - ccd is not good and the stars are bigger than they should be, not counting the poor sky this night (bad FWHM and poor transparency, wind).

ATIK 383L+ (-10°C) on TMB Optical 130 Signature Series + 3" corrector
Losmandy G11 Gemini II guided with SX Lodestar on UltraSlim off-axis guider
Acquisition with Nebulosity 2.5, guiding / dithering with PHD Guiding 1.13
Processing with DeepSkyStacker and PixInsight 1.7

L (bin 1) : 12 x 300s = 1h00

Couldn't finish the RGB because of dew on front lens...

Aside from all the complaints and problems, the image is pretty darn good!
