The other night and after months of dust collecting my astro gear finally got an airing again! I did a quick practice broadcast and as always recorded the session. I only managed a couple of targets M27 and M57 but as always the views from my Infinity produced excellent results. The video is unedited "warts & all" but you can of course fast forward to the best bits.
Recorded 27th September

Hi
skimmed through video very good results!
Can I ask what setup you are using, obviously Nex remote via a pc so you must be indoors in the warm?
I lug my Celestron 6 inch out setup all my gear on garden table and after an hour or so am forced back in with a laptop dripping with condensation.
Have you a remote focusing system as well?
Cheers for the video good to see the 'method' used and exposure / histogram settings

Hello Bill,
Thank you and thanks for watching.
I have a CPC1100 Edge and yes I control it from my comfy couch :) Nothing fancy in terms of remote astronomy but basically I connect the scope, 2 cameras and the Hitec/JMI focuuser to a USB hub attached to the mount and I then run 1 cable from that to my living room. The only other item I can control is the laser pointer for initial alignment but that is remote control. I just used a basic relay box the type normally used for a garage or that kind of thing.
Working from the comfort of my couch has always been part of the fun and challenge and it allows me to stream and share my views live which for me is the most enjoyable part of the hobby.
Let me know if you need more specifics and thanks again.
Regards

Thanks Jo, it's been hectic this year and still is but what can you do. Hopefully I'll get a few more nights in soon :)
