Title: Color Horizon - 4x4 Color Binning - Infinity Software Crash
Post by: bwa on March 27, 2018, 08:15:18 am
Running Version 4.2.1.9 of the software.  Was hoping this problem was resolved but it isn't.

To crash the Infinity software simply set for color binning and 4x4 binning and the software simply crashes!  No crash if normal (B&W) binning with 4x4 binning.  Both modes work fine with 2x2 binning, i.e.: the 2x2 binning problem was fixed.  Now all we have to resolve is color mode with 4x4 binning.

Hi bwa,

Thanks for letting us know. If you download the latest (4.2.2.0) it should be fixed.

No crashes with color/mono 2x2/4x4 binning with latest software but it looks like you've introduced horizontal banding into the most recent software release, per attached.  Banding is present in the 2x2 binned on screen image and in captured 1x1 binned RAW FIT files.  It is not random banding, i.e.: even aligning and stacking 73 subs only made it worse.  Using Color Horizon camera.

Hi bwa,

Thanks for the update. We have seen the banding issue ourselves and we chased it down to interference with the cooling control. If you download the latest version (4.2.2.1) it should be fixed.

I'll test 4.2.2.1 next time out; maybe tonight?

I did test with and without cooling with 4.2.2.0 and didn't notice any difference in banding.
