Title: M106 and Friends
Post by: CraigG on April 02, 2020, 09:34:59 pm
A stack of 60x30sec subs for a total of 30 minutes taken with my Horizon OSC last night. Lots of cool smaller galaxies in this relatively wide angle shot. Used a Baader IR/UV block filter on my Stellarvue SV 105 with PHD auto guiding. I did a little post processing of the JPEG file in Windows but I hope to process the FIT files in Nebulosity soon. Image has been radically reduced from 13mb to fit the forum posting limitations. It's just nice to have something good to share during these somber times!

Hope everyone is well and staying safe..

Hi Craig,

That's an excellent image! Love the detail in all the galaxies.

We're all working from our homes isolating over here, hope you're staying safe over there.

Thanks Vince!

Yeah, the Horizon's ability to capture so much useable data in such a short time still amazes me. Hope to snag some more galaxies now that our weather pattern has stabilized a bit.

Glad you're staying safe. All non-essential travel and shopping is banned here in Michigan so I'm only out for groceries and imaging! I could use a haircut though, lol
