I've just read ( a message from First Light Optics on the SGL forum) that there's a desiccant plug "built-in" to the 314L+ .......I never knew that!!
(Checking the ten pages on this section, it appears no one else did either!)
Are there details available on the desiccant and it's replacement (PDF file??)
I'd be very interested in feedback.

Hello Ken,
All the cameras we make have desiccant in them in order to dry the air that is trapped during the cameras assembly. Typically the desiccant on the 314L+ never needs re charging. However if you are getting condensation on the CCD you can:-
remove the cap and take out the desiccant tablet.
Leave the camera open in a warm dry place for 24 hours
Dry desiccant in a hot oven for 45 min
Replace when cool enough to handle

On the 314L+ I assume I have to dismantle the camera body to access the desiccant "plug"?????

I'd like to see a diagram of how to get at this dessicant as well, I think I might be getting condensation as my images are starting to take on an appearance as though a cloud is passing over.

Hi, It is possible you have a cloud passing over...
The newer 314L+ cameras have a desiccant plug in the side of the nose of the camera (the black part). Otherwise to gain access you need to remove the 4 screws from the back of the camera and gently lift off the back being careful not to pull the wires. The 1 cm diameter desiccant plug is then visible underneath the CCD.

I do get some vignetting, but use the Histogram to eliminate its affect.
