Long Downloads - Flushing?
« on: January 14, 2014, 03:49:09 PM »
Last night I was taking some images with my 314+L and my Alpy 600 spectrograph. In several integrations my 20 second images were downloaded immediately. But in several cases the download was very long. When this happens is the camera flushing? Any rules for flushing, it is distracting when taking a series of relatively short exposures.

Of course the other cause might be temperature, sluggish computer due to temperature. I suspect not based on the behavior of my PhD guiding program.

Thanks, Ed

Ed,
I use the same camera for spectroscopy, usually set to -10 for the cooling and run with 120 sec subs.
I use AstroArtV4 for acquisition and pre-processing and haven't experienced any "long downloads".
I don't think it's the camera, but may be the software/ OS you're using????

Interesting - there shouldn't be a delay or flush.

Which software are you using and which OS?

Lastly if there's cable that is connecting/disconnecting (i.e. the joint or connection isn't good) then it could be causing a problem.
