Help with 314L+ OSC
« on: June 03, 2014, 03:33:40 PM »
All,

I can not seem to get much color out of my images.  My question is what should I select in Artemis under color?  Auto, Raw, Color?  My FIT files do not seem to contain any color info.  I use Artemis RGB to split the FIT files into 3 channels, but they all seem to contain the exact same data which results in a B&W images when combined in photoshop.  Should I be saving these FITS in RAW or Color?  Here is my work flow.

1.  Image capture in Artemis
2.  Debayar/Stack in Dawn
3.  Split Channel files with Artemis RGB
3.  Fits Liberator to combine channel files in Photoshop

Thanks,

William

William,

I use ImagesPlus to do all my image processing for my Atik 383 OSC with images from Capture.  ImagesPlus has an automatic process for all of your lights, darks, bias exposures and easy to user image processing functions.  See the web-site www.mlunsold.com for information.

color info is there. You need to debayer it first though. This is my workflow:

Capture
Dark subtraction. This is done while still bayered.
De-Bayering
Intensity Normalization
Image alignment
Image Stack using standard deviation

All is done in Nebulosity 3, though Ive been using PixInsight to do all of this and also drizzle the image.

Nebulosity returns an image that you can save in any format desired. I use fit formatm 16 bits. Sometimes TIFF 16bits.
