EFW1 on windows 8 64 bit - is it possible?
« on: July 30, 2015, 04:35:01 PM »
I have tried installing the older drivers as suggested on the downloads page and the drivers install ok when I point to to the AtikDrivers/USB1 directory.

Running the filter wheel program results in an unhandled exception  error 80040154

Is there a way round this?

thanks
Mick

Hi Mick,

What program are you trying to use to run the filter wheel? I've just had a quick test and managed to control an EFW1 on my 64-bit machine in Capture, but I am on Windows 7 rather than 8...

Hi Jo

I was using the Filter wheel program supplied in the Atik Universal setup (latest version).

Hmm, curious, I get the exact same problem with the Filter Wheel program.

I know this is a bit of a side step solution, but as Artemis Capture seems to work control the filter wheel without any problems it may be worth using that? or other third-party software that should support through wheel through the ASCOM driver? I'm not sure if the stand alone Filter Wheel program is fully supported any longer, or if it was integrated into Capture.

Thanks Jo

that sounds a useful tip.
I will try Capture and the ASCOM driver with other Maxim & see what happens.
