shutter vibration
« on: November 19, 2015, 11:31:26 AM »
Hi folks, very much a newbie on here, having just taken delivery of a secondhand 383 camera. Previously had a DSLR.

A simple question, as the 383 has a shutter, is there a requirement to build in a delay for possible shutter vibration as with the DSLR, before taking the image?

Thanks for nay help

Alec

Hi Alec,

a simple answer: No.
DSLRs have a mirror box – and this box is the reason for vibrations.

CCDs have no mirror box.
When you open the ccd shutter, than then the CCD is exposed immediately.
So there will be no effect for a delay.

There could only be (maybe) an effect for a delay between the frames to stabilize the ccd.

Thanks
