GPAcquire settings and 8 vs 16bit images

Hello All

Is there any way of making sure that the settings I choose for an Atik GP guider in GPAcquire stay through when I select the camera as guider in MaxIM DL using the ASCOM driver?

I am having issues with the frame rate achieved with the ASCOM driver in MaxIM and have found that 8 bits instead of 16 bits works best. Also the packet size at <1220KB and ~7fps work optimally with my setup. 

However, when I connect to MaxIM, downloads can sometime go very slow and when I revert back to GPAcquire to check settings I see that the camera has defaulted to 16bits and larger packet sizes...
