M 104 - Infinity

20 shots of 23" each one ( 7,6 minutes )

And some small GIMP corrections.

Moon is Waxing crescent 35%. The sky was not so black....

Nice start to using your new color Infinity. I took a good look at your image and the focus was off. Check out the dimmer stars and you can clearly see them as donuts meaning that the focus was off causing a softer look and loss of detail.

Yes, you are right. I have some problems with the focusing when the main object is bright.The numbers of FWHM become crazy.

I have to keep trying with lower exposures

One thing you could try is focusing on a different patch of sky, say, just a star field, and then slew to your main object once you're happy with the focus?

Saying that though, the software is intended to discount galaxy cores etc from the FWHM measurement. If you have some raw images of the FWHM causing you problems, you can always send them to chrisg@atik-cameras.com to take a look at.
