Atik FOV App
« on: August 31, 2016, 02:40:20 PM »
Hi! I have this app for a few years now. One thing I can't understand is the "true" FOV for the cameras.
OK, I have 460EXM. I plug it in, enter my scope - EdgeHD 14" with 0.7X reducer. Focal Length 2492mm. All good. But then, when I go to FOV, it gives 104'x77.5'. This is not right. According to all the calculators (and actual images I get) it is about 17'x14'. Either I'm using the app in the wrong way or something in it's calculations is not right.
Thanks!
Ian

Hi there,

When I enter your set up in the app, I get a field of view of 17.2' x 13.8', which I'd say is pretty good to your 17'x14'! I wonder if it's a mix up between object size and the field of view for your setup? I've attached a screenshot to show what I mean - let me know if it helps or not!

Thanks,
Jo

Jo,
Thank you for that screenshot. I'm getting a totally different picture and the numbers. May be it's a difference between your iPad and my i-phone 6? Now, BTW, I'm getting FOV of 71.5'x57.2' with 1.6"x1.6" scale... I really don't get it...
