Attaching an Atik EFW + 314L to a Meade 6.3 Focal reducer
« on: October 24, 2012, 08:38:29 AM »
Hi guys

I'm asking around to try and get an answer to this.

I've taken delivery of an Atik EFW and 314L kit from first light optics and want to attach it to my setup, which is a Meade LX200GPS 12". (http://www.analytical-labs.com/camera.jpg)

This is my first proper CCD camera so I'm very new to all this. I've asked on the lx200gps yahoo group and come up with a few different answers, one was ask you guys, so, I am! ;)

As you can see I can attach it using a smallish drawtube, but I'm assuming this isn't the optimal way? Although I don't know what the optimal distance is between reducer and camera so I may of course be wrong. I can't test it the weather sucks, but I'd like to get it resolved before the skies clear and I find I can't use it ;)

So assuming this is the case, what do I need to buy to fix it :) (http://www.analytical-labs.com/camera2.jpg)

Thanks

Tom
