power issues with 460?
« on: February 26, 2017, 08:25:55 AM »
Hi,

Could someone explain why I occasionally get images like the one attached? I mean the bright corners in the picture? Power issue? After disconnecting the power cord, and attaching it back, the bright corners disappeared. I need to do this every night now and I'm eager to find a solution...

On occasion I get bright corners on the 414ex camera using Nebulosity 3 and 4.
Both versions of Nebulosity have an option in camera setup to turn on/off the
camera amplifier; the default is setup is Off but I am not sure it has any effect.
Neither selected position seems to matter as long as you continue to have the
camera running.  It's only after you disconnect/reconnect the camera that the
bright corners cease.  So something in the camera must get reset then.  I've
thought that using the bin option that occurs for Frame and Focus and then
going back to regular single bin observing might bring on the onset of bright
corners.
