460EX color help with different software

With the Artemis software, my pictures look fantastic right after downloading from the camera---in color and the right colors.

With Nebulosity 3, my picture downloads in black and white and then I have to 'de-mosiac RAW + Square' and the colors don't look good at all after this process.

With MaxIm DL, my picture downloads in black and white and then I have to 'convert to color' and the colors don't look good after this process.  I do have the MaxIm DL plug-in installed (don't know if this matters).

I haven't tried Images Plus yet, but will I have the same problem?

Why does Artemis do such a lovely job?
