Price Showdown: Budgets Pick vs. Budgets Pick Of Electric Pressure Washer

We love a good price showdown, especially when we are pitching two popular budget picks against one another.

In this review, we will compare two of the most popular budget-friendly pressure washers on today’s market: Sun Joe SPX3000 and Ryobi RY1419MTVNM 1900 PSI Electric Pressure Washers.

Both of these top rated pressure washers sell for around $150 on Amazon and Home Depot. But lets see which is the best value pressure washer.

Ready for some price showdown? Let jump right in!

Cleaning Power: Ryobi Wins

We thought Sun Joe would easily win this category. It is advertised to deliver up to 2000PSI in water pressure and 1.76 GPM in flow rate, impressive for any pressure washer of its price range.

But our test showed its actual pressure was less than 1500 PSI. Ryobi delivers a higher PSI of 1900 and 1.2 GPM, which is enough for a good pressure washer to complete light duty tasks.

We noticed the speed difference when testing on different gunk and stain types. Ryobi consistently outperformed Sun Joe, though slightly. We proposed that you had see a significant performance gap if you work on larger areas for an extended period.

Build: Ryobi Wins

These two pressure washers share some similarities in footprint and design. Both are compact, lightweight, and highly mobilizable.

However, Ryobi is sturdier and more stable while weighing only half of Sun Joe (20lb vs. 32lb) due to smart weight distribution.

This reflects in Ryobi’s flat-lying duffle bag with small wheels design. We did not have any trouble maneuvering or storing the Ryobi.

At the same time, we struggled a bit with Sun Joe when it comes to accessories storage.

Ryobis Velcro straps did a better job reeling and securing hose and cord than the hooks on Sun Joe. And Sun Joe does not seem to have any nozzle tips storage.

Construction-wise, Ryobi is the best rated pressure washer for home use at this price range.

Accessories: Sun Joe Wins

Sun Joe wins this round with brilliant design of multi-angle turbo nozzle and detergent tank. Still, we have to give Ryobi credits for a better hose and cord management system.

Sun Joe comes with a metal spray wand, while Ryobi, like most low-end washers, only offers a plastics wand, which feels cheap and does not last as long.

Sun Joe also comes with removable angled nozzle tips. We only appreciated them after having to hold Ryobi is nozzle so close to the cleaning surface. Working at different angles accelerates the cleaning process and ensures safety when working with chemicals.

We did not waste time switching between jobs with Sun Job because it has two snap-on detergent tanks. You don’t need to regularly empty and refill the tank. Best of all, you can see through the opaque plastics case to monitor the current water level.

Noise: Ryobi Wins

We judged this element of major annoyance on how loud and persistent the motor noise is.

Sun Joe creates a loud, high-pitched noise for such a small machine due to the low-quality brushed motor. But it is only on when you trigger the spray gun.

Ryobi creates a pleasantly soft hum, and the motor is on all of the time. We will give this one to Ryobi because we could not bear the Sun Joe for more than 10 seconds.
