Solar Imaging w/ Lunt 60 DS & ATIK428Ex

I would have to call this first light with my ATIK 428Ex. Seems like a strange way to start w/ the 428Ex BUT it wasn't dark (easy to see what I was doing) and I just had to try it out.
I now see why everyone raves about mono cameras for solar imaging. I may never use my Canon 60D again; however, the 60D is easier to set up and use...
A few shots off the ATIK 428Ex:

The ATIK mono CCD is not a "webcam"; thus, I had to capture a large number of
1x1, 2x2 or ROI images. In most cases I captured 200-400 images and stacked the best 2-3 images in Registax.
I'm going to like this CCD!!
Enjoy!

Thanks. I know the 428Ex isn't meant for solar imaging; however, it has produced my best solar images todate. Too bad it doesn't have video output!?

If this cam is not meant to image the sun, well here is the conclusion that is does tough!
Really nice ones!

Sun is bright enough to allow 16-bit DS cams work easily even on higher resolution.
