M106
« on: April 15, 2012, 09:25:46 PM »
I started this on Friday night from my back yard because I wanted to work on some guiding issues I had when using a long focal length, 8RC. This time even though it appeared that the X&Y graphs were jumping around (much more than when using my FSQ) I believe I've gotten some decent results.
This is 9x10min subs only in Lum using an AT8RC, ATFF and the 383L+ on a G11 mount guided with the Atik OAG.
I plan on going back and getting more LUM and RGB.

Comments always welcome.

Nice one! Keep us in the loop withthe color version  8)

How many pixels did the graph jump around? I worry about this bloody all the times but infact even if it jumps up to 3 pixels, there is no need to worry  :D

Well done!

Thanks for the look bwa, Kevin & Lex. I use Maxim to image and guide and am used to seeing no more than +- .50 pixel max movement with my FSQ. But with the 8RC
it was more in the neighborhood of +-1-2 pixels which could have been caused by the seeing through a larger scope I would guess. I finally settled on 3 sec exposures
and an 8 aggressiveness in X & Y. Seemed to have worked well.
