490ex Failed to connect to Camera
« on: October 15, 2015, 04:10:40 AM »
Any idea on how to diagnose a "failed to connect issue"? Atermis does not provide any information aside from this.

The fan on the camera starts when the camera is plugged in, and I have used both the power cord and USB cable on my EFW2 successfully.

Nothing for the camera appears in the windows device manager, (though I am not sure if anything is supposed to).

The camera should normally appear in the device manager, is it at all possible that the camera drivers haven't been installed? Which camera and version of Windows are you using? If you email support@atik-cameras.com they'll be able to run through everything with you and find the problem :)

Thanks, I did send an email last Thursday and never received a reply from Atik. (Aside from the automated email giving me a ticket number:  #SP00001017)

I have installed and reinstalled the drivers multiple times on two computers with no effect. Both are the latest version of Windows 7. The title of this post states it is a 490ex.

I've flagged this with support, so hopefully a reply should be on the way tomorrow.

And yes, the title of the post does very clearly state it's a 490EX, I apologise, that was a complete oversight on my part.
