EFW2 error message at setup
« on: October 04, 2016, 11:16:32 PM »
Hi Guys

Just thought I would start a new thread having the following problem, my computer is Windows 10 (64bit), I'm not sure if it can be fixed within the Atik software or if the problem needs fixed at my end, I have setup the filter wheel on previous occasions without any problems throughout last year... perhaps windows updates have changed things.

When pressing the SETUP button on Atik Filter Wheel Runner I keep being hit with the unhandled exception error box with Filter Wheel Runner header and the following details...

Unhandled exception has occurred in a component in your application. If you click Continue the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Thanks for looking!

Mike

Hi Mike,

Sorry to see you're having problems. One quick question, what version of the installer are you using? I'd recommend installing the latest from the website (www.atik-cameras.com/downloads). If you've already done that, let me know and I'll investigate further.

Chris.

Hi Chris

Thanks for your fast response to this problem.

I had already uploaded the latest core software ...but to be on the safe side I uninstalled all Atik software, re-booted the computer and did a fresh install today but still same error message pops up upon pressing the Filter Wheel Runner 'Setup' button for EFW2, pressing option to ignore and 'Continue' has no effect in that the 'Setup' box doesn't appear to allow filter naming.  ???

The Artemis installer version is  4.1.0.3

Mike

Hi Chris

I can confirm this new version appears to work, the error box no longer appears, the setup button opens the filter setup box and filters can be named... all is well!  ;)

Many thanks for fast solution to this problem ...much appreciated!

Kind regards

Mike
