Helix Nebula (Epsilon 160 Atik 460EX)

Hi,

A couple of weeks ago I saw an image of the helix revealing the outer structure. I was very naive and I gave it a try, I accumulated 41 x 20m frames of Ha and the outer shell was barely noticeable!

I am sure this target is better suited for bigger apertures... I will stay away from planetary nebulas and go back to more 'generous' objects!

I always have problems color balancing bi-color images, and this is not exception.

* Filters Astrodon 5nm
* 41 x 20m frames Ha @ 1×1
* 12 x 20m frames OIII @ 2×2

Glad that you like it Chris!

I am very happy with the result, but it was ver challenging to process the image. Winter is coming and all the nice big, juicy emission nebulae are coming!

I am very happy with my camera! Now that winter is comming I am happy with the cooling!
