NGC281 - PacMan - 460OSC
« on: September 19, 2012, 10:29:08 AM »
3 clear nights out of 4 has to be something of a UK record. Was not expecting great things from this with an OSC camera but it framed well with the FLT110. Was pleasantly surprised.
Imaged: 18 Sept 2012
Scope: W/O FLT110 with TMB FF
Mount: Paramount MX
Camera: Atik460EXOSC
Guided: W/O ZS70/CCDSoft/Lodestar
Exposures: 15x480 sec
Processed: Pixinsight

What is the reduction on the TMB FF or is it simply a 1x flattener?

Its a 1x flattener but I suspect it does reduce FL by a smidge. Works very well when the back spacing is set to +/- 1mm

Super image, I see your exposure time is not far from my favourite time of 450sec. This seems to be the optimum signal noise ratio for my typical seeing conditions. I tried longer but I lose star colour and noise ramps up quite dramatically
