Firmware update 383L+ V3.12 to V3.27 Changes?

Hi,

i am new to this Forum. I´ve registered here because I have a question about the firmware (V3.12) of my Atik 383L+. The firmware updater shows as the current version V3.27. But I can find no information on the V3.27 update from V3.12.

Anyone know what has been changed, or where I can look up here?

Hello,

The upload system for these cameras should be straight forward so you are welcome to load a new firmware anytime.  However if you are happy with the way the camera works then no need to upgrade.  If we add an interesting new feature will will advertise it!

The versions between 3.12 and 3.27 mostly relate to source code changes to support the 460 and 428 and have no impact on the 383.  However at 3.26 there was an improvement to the CCD clearing in short (<2 sec)  dark frames that you might find useful if you take bias frames as part of your calibrations.

Thank you very much for this information! At the moment I have no problem with my 383L+. BIAS frames I wanted to use at the next session of calibration steps! The information is very important to me.

I dug this thread up because I have a basic question, so please excuse my ignorance.
When using my 383L+ where do I find what firmware is installed? And if I did wish to upgrade it where and how would i go about doing it?
At present everything works great and I don't feel the need to do an upgrade, but just in case I found it necessary I would like to know how to go about it.

Hello Mike,

Just go to "Camera" menu and select "info". Protocol version is the firmware version.
