M31 and 32 maximising image?
« on: September 06, 2018, 01:58:44 PM »
Hi
attached is a holiday snap of said galaxy 15 exposures @ 30 seconds each. Couldn't actually see M32 so had to guess direction hence the off centre image and had a street light to my right!

Haven't done any post processing on this image (original was Tiff but changed Jpeg to upload) and was wondering if it could be improved and if so what with software wise. Can't afford Ps except Cs2 but find levels and curves doesn't improve image without it looking noisy. Didn't use any pre-sets just altered histogram to get best image.

Any suggestions please? am quite happy to supply FITS via e mail files for experimentation!

Regards

BillB

Hello, Thanks for getting in touch. We're happy to give you some advice on how to improve this image. We'll get back to you very shortly.
However, if you also need advice on how to improve initial technique we'll just need a little more information about what type of equipment you are using.
