New Atik 428EX!

It's our pleasure to announce the fantastic Atik 428EX! This new model is based on the new Sony ICX674, a sensor that is placed to be the successor of the venerable ICX285. But what does this new camera bring?

First, it has a substantially improved QE, which translates to more signal in your images. All wavelengths, from OIII to Ha and SII benefit from the latest EXview HAD CCD II technology, something deep-sky Astroimagers haven't been able to get until now.
Second, it features world renowned low noise electronics, with excellent S/N ratio which makes sensitivity go up and your exposure time go down.
Third, a lightweight, narrow body, compatible with very fast systems like the Hyperstar.

And lastly... it's an Atik! You'll get excellent support, easy to use software, and great value!

Hello, does anyone know what is the download time? in bin 1x1 mode with standard USB 2.0 and these days computer?
In my setup, 314L+ takes 3-4 seconds for 1.4 megapixels.

I am planning to buy this camera and use it with my C11 Edge + Hyperstar setup. What size filter you would recommend to avoid vignetting. I will build a drawer type filter changer for this setup do I can design it so that the filter is mounted with 0.5mm from the tip of the camera. Would that configuration allow me to use 1.25" filters ?

Definitely under 5 sec.; probably closer to 3 sec...

Ran two 1x1 batches of 50 images each w/ exposure of 0.002 sec.  Total download time was 175 sec. or 3.5 sec. per image.
