NGC4438 with ICX694 Camera
« on: March 26, 2012, 09:53:32 am »
Hello,

We have had some fantastic weather here in the East on the UK so plenty of opportunity to do some imaging.  I am still going for quiet faint but interesting galaxies so spent two evenings collecting RGB 5 min subs of NGC4438.  Again using the C11 with the 0.6 reducer.

We should announce the ICX694 camera this week so will be able to give it a name then.
best
Steve

Hi Steve!

It looks good - congratulation!

I'm looking for a 8300 Chip due to small pixels for my FSQ106ED - but now I saw the datasheet from ICX694 and your image - I think, 'I have to wait'.

Is there anywhere a camera for testing purposes ;)

Kind regards.
Herbert, Austria

Steve, great news! I am torn between 694 and smaller 674 (because I may use the CCD only for small targets like planetary nebulas so maybe the size of 694 (depending on the final price and overall quality) is overkill to what I need and the 674 in 428EXM is just great).

Herbert_W: no doubt 694 will be FAR SUPERIOR to noisy KAF-8300 ;D I would not hesitate to get the new ExView HAD II CCD from SONY.

Hi,
Thanks both.  I am getting a lot of enjoyment using the new exview sensors.  Atik314, Atik 428 or Atik 460, you can't go far wrong.
Cheers
