320e?
« on: May 06, 2014, 11:57:04 PM »
Hi.  First post here.

I have used a Sony 285 - based camera for several years, but I've realized that I shoot often at 450-800mm.  I am losing resolution when the seeing is good, it seems, and I would like the larger scale of smaller pixels, I think.

Any advice on picking a newer camera?  I am firmly in favor of a Sony chip, and I am committed to 1.25" filters.

I am having a hard time seeing the difference between 320e, 420, 428ex, and so on except more real estate.  Am I missing something?

Hi Val,
I will be getting a 428EX on Friday.
I believe this is the camera with the new Sony ICX 675 sensor.

I am using it in conjunction with a Celestron C9.25 at F10 and F6.3. If like me you want a good camera
and can afford it.  I would buy the 428EX. Looking on the internet and speaking to people. This is a very good camera.

How ever it is your decision.
Paul.
