Hold cables on 383
« on: September 26, 2014, 09:31:08 am »
hi,

I have the idea that the DC and USB cables tend to fall from 383L connectors.  As I have the setup in a fixed observatory, i would like to find a way to hold both cables securely .

Anyone ever run into this problem and found a solution?

Thank you
Nuno

It's not normally a good idea to have strain on connectors caused by taught cables (it usually reduces the lifetime of the cable/connectors due to thermal cycling).

I've used a simple plastic cable tie to give a rounded arc into the socket that doesn't move when the mount is operated.

I have - before being tidy with cables - managed to stand on the USB cable and ripped the USB connector out of my 383L! Sent it back to ATIK and it was return to me the next day.

Thank you for your answer

I found this and bought several of them:

I hope that with the humidity they don't fall, but will certainly keep the cables a bit more secure.

thank you so much
